Hello! Since it’s a new year, I’ve set myself some new reading-related goals and also want to talk about some books I’m hoping to read this year!
Goals
My main goal is to read 50 books! Last year, for the first time, I read double that, but since I’ll be starting college in the fall and finishing up high school now, I don’t want to put a lot of excess pressure on myself.
I also always set the additional goal of reading every single day. This is just for me personally, because I find it helps me stay out of slumps. Even if I can only read a single page some days, I’m happy.
Genre-wise, I’m looking to continue reading more classics this year, as I began doing so in 2020 and really enjoyed them. I am also planning to read more nonfiction and poetry this year.
Specific Books
I’m not really one to set strict tbrs, and am actually planning to only do wrap ups this year because I never stick to them, but I do have a couple books I’m hoping to get to this year.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
Les Misérables by Hugo Cabaret
The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak
More Than This by Patrick Ness
This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar
A Tale for The Time Being by Ruth Ozeki
On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong
The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy
Far From The Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy
And those are my reading goals for 2021! Have you set any reading goals for the year?
